I missed posting Life as a SAHM last weekend. We've had family in town for more than a week and with entertaining, keeping up with chores, and chasing after Miss A, my little ol' blog has fallen over the way side.
We drop everything whenever our families come to visit. Since they live about a 12 hour drive away, we don't get to see each other very often. You can imagine how that must be for our parents who miss their granddaughter like crazy. She is the first grandchild in both sides of the family; in other words, she is very well loved, and very spoiled.
My in-laws love to travel, explore, and paint the town red. We've gone on so many family vacations over the years and I can't wait until we can travel again with Miss A. While they were here we went to the mall, the park, went on several walks, and checked out new places to eat.
She did amazingly well at every restaurant. As long as there's food in front of her, she's a happy girl.
We went to the movies with my sister-in-laws, which was a huge treat, since I haven't been to the movies in five months! We saw Gravity, well worth the money to see in IMAX.
I know the picture sucks, but we were two excited parents at the movies!
During every family visit, a trip to Target is mandatory. Miss A rode this shopping cart around the store like it was her job. My future shopper in the works!
She wasn't as thrilled about these awesome Halloween wigs as we were!
A trip to the pumpkin patch! Miss A picked out a perfect round pumpkin that was just her size.
Shortly after my in laws left, my dad arrived. With him came lots of goodies; tons of new clothes and this Minnie Mouse hat and Mickey Mouse doll. She was SO excited. As soon as she woke up the next morning she asked me to put on her hat and took Mickey downstairs with her to breakfast.
Whenever our dads come to visit, they're very eager to fix/install/repair things. There's still a lot to do in our house and my dad came prepared with his huge orange box of tools. Here we are at Lowe's buying blinds, electrical sockets, and a new garbage disposal.
Dad requested Panera for lunch and we sat outside long enough for me to get this great picture of Miss A cheesin' it up. Then, a bee decided to fly around us for five minutes, scaring us inside. Nature. How I love and hate you sometimes.
A break in the rain! Taking a walk with grandpa.
Today we went to our first fall festival of the season. The weather has been so gray and gloomy every day this week and luckily the rain held off long enough for us to get some good pictures.
Until Thanksgiving familia!
Hope you're having a great weekend!
What a great week! I know what you mean dropping everything when family is in town. Mine live all the way in Africa and I always take a whole month of work when they visit. I'm glad you had a great time :)
